The two-hour British TV movie Karaoke (8 p.m., Bravo), written by the late
Dennis Potter ("The Singing Detective"), has its American premiere.
Finished shortly before Potter's death in 1994, "Karaoke" stars Albert
Finney as a terminally ill screenwriter whose characters seem to be coming
alive. The sequel, the futuristic Cold Lazarus, airs Wednesday.

I recommend these very highly.  If you get Bravo, double check your
listings to make sure the times are right--I also think they may be longer
(like, in two parts each) than this Salon plug suggests.
