FUP and M&D (Duck spoilers only)

I was far more intrigued by the overlaps with Laurence Norfolk's first
novel, `L'Emprie`re's Dictionary' (if you'll pardon my tick-infested
prose). Not only Vaucanson but Clockwork Golems, Underground Tunnels,
Messing About In Boats, the EIC, Mythological Forces and a Conspiracy
to boot. Wonder if LN got a sneak preview of the manuscript and raided
it for ideas - or maybe TRP picked some of it up from LN?
