Hmm, always knew it could be damned painful; never knew it was fatal. So
I'm guessin', what, they wrapped blankets around the heads of talk-show
hosts, sales clerks, and sports commentators until they were thoroughly
infected with "How about those Celtics?" and "Hot 'nough fo' ya"s and "You
know that's gotta hurt"s and "Give my best to"s. Then, when the settlers
attacked, the indigenous warriors would be too involved in discussions of
sports scores, family dysfunctions, and those wild teenagers who won't shave
their heads, giving the settlers the proverbial drop on 'em.
