Ok, them's fighting words.  My wife and I bought a 4-wheel drive swamp buggie, actually, a Mitsubishi Montero, which we'll probably never take seriously offroad.  Why?  Because I scuba dive and it's great for hauling all that gear.  And because we wanted something bigger to haul junk around in.  We're now popular when friends move.  And we're still mentally young enough to shun buying a station wagon (shudder).
