de Nerval and M&D?

Having finished M&D (and having little or no money in my p--pocket) I
thought I'd read something else for a while--maybe go back and re-read
Celine's _Death on the Installment Plan_. But I wound up with Kristeva's
_Black Sun_ instead. Lots of stuff in Kristeva's chapter on Gerard de
Nerval kept sounding familiar. For instance right there on p.147, within ten
or twelve lines of text, I found the word "tenebreux," mentions of the
tarot, talk of widowers, starry nights, melancholia, dark incandescence.
Would anyone on the list who's familiar with de Nerval's poetry & prose,
especially "El Desdichado," care to indulge in suggestive speculations?
