At least PEOPLE had the good sense to contact John Krafft.  Who were these
"
critics" and "readers"?  I'm sure there are many not on this list, but 
the names didn't ring any bells.

It seemed to me that the piece was provoked by the NEW YORK article and the
notion that at last the relentless camera could catch the Elusive One--
but in a discrete way, of course, after emphasizing the more tenuous
claims of Paranoia-land: P as Unabomber, P as Tinasky (but not P as Salinger!).
