He's not anonymous or a recluse, it's as he says, he simply chooses to engage 
with the world at large strictly through his writing and not through any other
 media.The recluse myth serves a purpose of drawing in a few new readers
 each time it is aired.
Paranoid? Humble? Does it matter?  His 'anonymity' hasn't ended, as long as
he can 
resist being lured in and snagged by the addictive rush of media fueled ego
strokes.
The most is what, a pack of journos hounding him until they find something 
more rewarding to do?.  Then life settles back to him being again, partner,
parent, friend
and writer, dealing with life at an immediate unmedia-ted  level.  More
power to him if
that is what he choses.
