I'll never catch up to the volume now--400+ over the weekend and
Monday!! Whose MU! are we up to? When will CNN air the debate
between baseball cap guy and distinguisshed man? Why does Jules
post so politiely nowadays (hmmmmm?). Seems like eons ago I
wanted to mention that the Skoo-gill Expressway (Skyew-kyill in
some parts of the city) is a moderately famous road--it was 10 years
obsolete before construction was completed in the early 60's
(maybe late 50's); it's known as the *Sure-kill Distressway*
to many locals because of the interesting relationship it posits
 between road width, banked curves and large speeding cars;
 notorious rush hours too; a-and
from a certain stretch. just before you hit the refineries
where the spherical oil tanks are painted like baseballs and B-balls
(no Hockey Pux due to recent Flyers' disgrace), heading towards Jersey
if you look right you can see the massive student housing superblocks
of U. of P.--founder of course dear Dr. Franklin--and maybe even that
Wistar Institue from which Matt W. apparently posts. (Hey Matt--they still torturing
animals in there under the rubric *research*?)
The road was the inspiration
for a 60's pop hit called (memory lane drumroll here)
 *Expressway to Your Heart*
by the Soul Survivors. You wanna talk hip old groups or what?

I been trying to get to you
For a long time
Because constantly
You been on my mind

I been thinking about the shortcuts
I could take
But it seems like
I made a mistake

>>>The Schuylkill is also the local name for I-76, running along the banks
>>>of the river. As I discovered when I moved to Delaware, it's pronounced
>>>"SKOO-gull" (at least around here).
