Yes, there's that Kirghiz Light, eh?  But I think a serious stab might be 
hard to do.  To me, the flavor of religion in Pynchon seems more 
Anabaptist than anything else.  I dearly loved the passage in M&D where 
Mason, desperate in the Cape Town rain after the spiritually tantalizing 
Transit of Venus, tries to practice Quaker meditation like Dixon, only to 
fall asleep in his chair and crash to the floor.
