Hmmm... Well, it wasn't really in jest, so I wonder if you're getting me
properly. My intention was 1) to state my need for more information (valid
information) on the subject, 2) to illustrate my hesitation to blanketly
accept Jules' article -- that is, the part about HIV being not THE cause of
AIDS, but rather one symptom of it (are there cases of AIDS that do not have
HIV? If so, are they just not called AIDS because of that, or what?), and
3) perhaps somewhat in jest, to equate the idea of HIV spontaneously
appearing in the body as a result of AIDS (which according to Jules' article
is a result of exposure to certain mutagens over a long period of time -- am
I getting this right, Jules?) with theories of early medicine and biology
where the theory of spontaneous generation were staus quo -- before Louis
Pasteur came along and discovered germs.
