For the record, I didn't make that argument, though I disagree with much of
what Jules has written on the subject here and at his website and view the
rest of it with skepticism.  But I also think that an intense discussion on
AIDS should relate *directly* and *constantly* to Pynchon or take place
elsewhere.  There are numerous bulleting boards and mailing lists where
interested parties can participate in the ongoing debate.
