     Why does everybody think that TRP is in seclusion?
     
     The fact that he doesn't want to socialize with the likes of us 
     doesn't make him a hermit.  
     
     He lives in NYC, a great place to be anonymous in a crowd, and even 
     walks the streets and probably rides the subway.  He visited the Holt 
     offices and probably had to be announced when he arrived.
     
     He has a wife and kid.  He socializes with other people and goes to 
     the country for the weekend <if Sales is to be believed).  
     
     He <apparently> doesn't like to speak with reporters and Jules Siegel 
     (the order of preference is not clear).
     
     He seems to prefer to choose his own acquaintances.
     
     Nobody (meaning the likes of us) has seen a photograph of him in over 
     40 years -- doesn't mean that Mrs P doesn't have an instamatic or 
     video camera -- doesn't mean that there are no photos of him.  Mrs P 
     might even have his photo on her desk.  There may even be a wedding 
     album.
     
     Unlike that other famous reclusive author, L. Ron Hubbard, TRP has not 
     established a cult/religion, and certainly has not been writing and 
     publishing books several years after his death.
