Well, I gotta admit from the git go, I never saw the Original Ghostbusters,
and I only vaguely remember the Real Ghostbusters, but I have to question
your logic on some of this.  The fact that Filmation skimps on quality and
still sells their shtuff actually allows MORE available revenues than would
a more fully realized animation technique in which the production costs
would suck down the resources. You give the exmple of the Star Trek
animation series, which works well to demonstrate your point about the
shoddiness of their animation quality but otherwise kinda confutes your
point.  That animated Star Trek managed to pull scripts from the biggest SF
names of the day.  So as for paying the price of a license, I guess that
depends how much value the owner thought the name still held.
