Either your professor is correct or there's gonna be a hell of a lot 
work in such a project; certainly more than is justified for a term 
paper. Save it for your MA thesis.

I am currently taking a "History of the English Language" class, and 
need
to write a term paper.  I am thinking of tracing TRP's use of words in 
M&D;
in particular his use of older English to produce a peculiarly modern 
feel
to his prose.  I haven't thought this out completely; well, to be 
honest,
not even partially, seeing as I still need to finish the book, but the
thought intrigues me.  Any thoughts on the plausibility of such a paper? 
My professor seems to think I will dive into it only to find the topic 
runs
no deeper then TRP having fun by fucking around with the words to amuse
himself (and us, I suppose).
