On a marginally related note, I highly recommend the movie "The Loved One", a Terry Southern/Peter Isherwood penned gem "guaranteed to offend everyone" (according to the box). Some Pynchonian elements, including rockets and a girl named Thanatogenes... The real trick is finding this movie, tho...
