Mailer: No Such Thing as Bad Karma

After the requisite 0.3 seconds of Tasteful and Restrain'd Navel-Gazing
in the matter of TRP's privacy and the heinousness of modern tabloid
journalism, I snuck off and looked at the picture at Jester's site.
I am at least gratified to see confirmation of my Zapruderistickal
speculations about who was who in the CNN viddie.
Suggested Caption: "Simply...Bauer!" Just goes to show you: a
goodlooking man will look good in _anything_!
But one question nags a bit:
It has long been known that the most dangerous place in the world is
between Norman Mailer and a camera, but is the man really so desperate
that he would follow James "Bone--James Bone" Bone on his
Pynchon-snipe-hunt, wait in an apartment foyer until exactly the _moment
juste_, and then pop his head into the frame, just over Pynchon's left
shoulder? The only thing he failed to get right was the ever-hilarious
two-finger "devil-horns" jape over Pynch's head. "Hi, Mom!"
What some people won't do!
Jackson looks like a cute little sprout. Wonder what he's like to talk
to.
ObObs: I've noticed that at the "official" M&D site a link has been
added to the CNN archive. Which to my thinking pretty much ends any
argument over TRP's complicity in that piece.
