Was it the cloth first or the simultaneously published paper first
that was priced at $1750. Need info to assess my net worth.

This weekend I was in a bookstore and came across a first edition of GR and 
(better yet) an advance review copy of same with preliminary cover artwork. 
While they were both out of my range (US $1750 & $3250 respectively), I was 
intrigued by the proposed cover artwork, which was based on a card from the 
major arcana of the tarot deck, the Tower (struck by lightning). 
 
What (if any) was the conclusion of the recent thread on Tarot influences on 
GR?
