Musing on the list-rumor that Patrick Stewart will be reading the Books On
Tape version of M&D, and re-reading chapter 37, which details the
adventures of Armand & the amorous mechanical duck, I have to wonder:
as fine an actor as he might be (and a truly gorgeous voice -- maybe
perfect for Rev'd Cherrycoke), how could ANY one read this chapter out
loud... not only are we faced with the spraying, Daffy-Duck frictives of
the duck's speech, but also more outrageous puns than anywhere else in the
book.

Never been tempted by audio books before, but I just might have to check
this one out, if only to see how it's handled.

P.S. On scrolling through one of the on-line lists of available audio
books, I was horrified & amused to find a NUMBER of titles available READ
BY WILLIAM SHATNER ... jeez, wouldn't that be one of the levels of hell ...
(I mean, here's a guy who based his whole acting style on emphasizing the
WRONG word in every sentence: "We come ... IN peace.")
