Hi all,
a friend of mine just lent me the novel "The Marceau Case" by
american author Harry Stephen Keeler (1st edition 1936) and I was wondering
whether any of you people had read Keeler and what you thought of him. Those
of you that haven't heard of him might want to check out:
http://xavier.xu.edu:8000/~polt/keeler.html or
http://users.aol.com/bigsecrets/Keeler.html
you won't be disappointed.
This friend of mine knows about my Pynchon enthusiasm and he claims
that Keeler was the first to come up with the "Webwork"-novel (from what I
gather he means how things are interconnected within a novel as well as
between novels and the role chance plays within the story) and that Pynchon
was the only author he knew about that uses similar technique.
Regards,
O.K.A.
