Rodney,

Man, you sure do get cantakerous when it comes to Gore Vidal.

Anyway, the only work I've ever read by Vidal was _Live_From_Golgotha_.
As I mentioned in another post, I thought it had an interesting premise,
read it and was very disappointed by it. Thus, I've never had the urge to
pick up another of his works. Perhaps that was a poor choice with which
to be introduced to his work, but such is life. I found LFG to be so poor
as to cause me to believe that if anyone can write something *this*
dissapointing, well, I'm going to read other authors rather than spend my
free time reading someone who writes stuff like this (i.e. LFG).

Throughout your many posts on Gore Vidal, I have yet to get any sense of
*why* I should pick up another of his works and read it. You've stated
that many P-listers are snobbish in there dismissal of Vidal, how we're
comparing apples-and-oranges, yet I've not seen anything which might
induce me to take another stab at one of his novels.

So, if you were to reccommend one particular *novel* by Vidal, what one
would it be, and why?

Joe
