	Here, Here!! I've been on the list for a little over two months
now, and I must say that I've been greatly impressed by the erudition and
intelligence displayed by you folks...and sort of depressed by the petty
sniping and ad hominem flame wars. Let's not let vigorous debate and
discussion degenerate into personal attacks, children(god, I sound like
pollyanna). BTW, I believe Vidal is one of the wittiest american essayists
since H.L. Mencken and I don't hold the fact that he doesn't share our
high opinion of Pynchon against him.
