What a year this is turning out to be! The revival of Annie, with Nell
Carter! The souped-up Star Wars on big screens with superloud sound! The
coming of Mason & Dixon! And now...a festival of Bunuel films at Anthology
Film Archives (March 14-April 17). Yippee!

This is a biggee, including not just familiar titles like Un Chien Andalou,
L'Age D'Or, Las Hurdes, Belle de Jour, That Obscure Object of Desire, and
The Discreet Charm of the Bourgeoisie but also the following rarities:

Cela S'Appelle L'Aurore (American Premiere)
El Rio y la Muerte (Spanish w/o subtitles)
Centinela Alerta
La Hija del Engano
La Hija de Juan Simon (Spanish w/French subtitles)
Don Quintin el Amargao
Gran Casino (Spanish w/o subtitles)

and, incredibly,

Triumph of the Will (a montage edited from Leni Riefenstahl's film and
possibly one other)

ObP: Hey, P loves films and admits being profoundly influenced by the
Surrealists--and good ol' Luis B. remains the master of Surrealist cinema.

Cheers,

davemarc
