Thanks for the update, Meg!  This news is terrible!! (Did you try going 
in-directly through the UVA website--backdoors are wonderful for such affairs!)  
My access date was 1 January 1997--but things may have changed up since then. .

Keep trying to obtain Duyfuizen's essay--at any cost!--along with McHale, 
Weisenburger, McHoul and Wills, and other notables, he is leaving behind the 
tired cliche of "Pynchon's novels are _so_ hard to read" (which they are) and 
exploring _how_ and _why_ they are this way.

New Discussion Project:  point out your own or other "readings" which change the 
way Pynchon is read.
