If GR is not to be held up to the critical criteria that are standard
for novels, then perhaps we need to look to other arts for general
direction. 

Does it "work"
Does it "provoke"
Does it "please"
Does it "amuse"
Does it "remind"
Does it "inform"
etc.

Whad'ya think?
