Just a quick note, but Pynchon's always connected to my emotions. Tantivy
being dissappeared and the rest all get to me, but I've especially liked
the whole notion of preterite and the passed over. Probably I identify
because I'm a complete schmel and Yo-Yo myself. The ninja that always
screws up at the crucial moment. Pynchon doesn't have heros or anti-heros
so much as just *people*. It's not often that I find an author with such a
sympathy for not the outcasts, the strange, the romantic, the suicidal,
the fringe of society, but just for the average schmel who doesn't
necessarily come out on top.
