C49 as Pastiche?

It seems to me that both definitions of pastiche suit C49.  To a degree
(low?) it parodies the mystery genre; to a different degree (lower?) it
interweaves different literary styles. 

I wouldn't assert that C49 is nothing more than a pastiche, but I believe
that the term can be applied to it accurately.  To call upon
caffeine-related nomenclature (with M&D just 'round the bend), I wonder if
the term "double lite pastiche" might be mutually acceptable to Andrew and
John.
