I don't remember Robby, but how about _Big Lou_ from the early or mid 60s.
He was a pointy-headed green plastic wheeled "robot" probably about 2 1/2
feet tall. Pre-digital and he didn't even have a cable to make him move.
But--he was loaded with weapons, shot balls from one arm, missiles from
both feet, and sucker-darts from his chest. He spoke (he actually had a
record in his head and when you turned the crank it would play), his eyes
flashed, he had a clicker and the morse code on the back of his head, and
for some reason he came with a whistle.
I believe his remnants are still in the basement of my folk's house.
