Back to Pynchon's name, I'm not so interested the whole Pyncheon/Hawthorne
aspect as I am in the perhaps more elemetary question of the name-word
"Pynchon" and its etymological-geographical-philological-cultural ancestary
- not merely that of the upper branches of the pynchon family tree.

Is "Pynchon" English then? German? Norse? I have no idea.
