I don't know about urban settings but in suburban settings indies tend
to
thrive when a B&N opens up. If I got a commission for every referal I
made
to an indie store because we didn't have a book in stock I'd be rich.
Same
with music sales in my store...I don't send people to Blockbuster or
Best
Buy but rather to one of the local indie stores.
