Max has just given us the exact reference for "Where the Bee Sucks."  I
should have spotted it immediately, not from any memory deep and wide, but
because when I first taught literature in 1978/9, at a Teachers' College in
Tripoli, Libya, fascinated by the advent of a foreign *woman* lecturer, one
day the second week of courses the students greeted me with an ear-splitting
rendition of Ariel's song -- of all things :)  It was a weird way of showing
affection [because that's what it was], but also very touching, somehow...
