Could someone enlighten me on the dates in M&D? Specifically the sailing dates of the Seahorse?
on p. 26 Dixon states they are sailing on the day of Christ's execution.
on p. 29 the text states they start sailing on Friday, 9, January, 1761.
on p. 52 there's a reference to being at sea a fortnight or two by 13 February.
But for the latter, I thought this was after the Seahorse had already been attacked
by the French and then repaired. As for the day of Christ's execution, I thought
that was Good Friday, which should happen sometime in March or April, not January.
Or is Dixon only referring to Fridays in general as being bad days to sail?
