As something of an old hand at this online communication deal, I'd observe
that the key is "to get the attention of a room full of strangers." The
only decent, honorable course of action (and the only one which avoids
sullying oneself) is to install a filter to remove the "ifc's" messages. If
an automatic one is not a feature of your mail reader, use a mental filter.
When you see a message from "ifc," just remind yourself that "This is not a
real message from a real person. It's an artifact of the net, not worth
looking at."
Remember: the danger in arguing with an idiot is that the bystanders might
not be able to tell the difference!
