No, it simply said that you can never read too much. One can eat too
much, drink too much, smoke too much (perhaps one shouldn't smoke at
all), talk too much, write too much--but one cannot read too much.
That's all.
As for TP's experiences, who knows? The only thing I'm sure of is
that he wrote at least a book I love, i.e. Gravity's Rainbow.
