Everyone on The List has been guilty, now and again, of writing off (and
sometimes off- off-) topic;  however, I believe in some cases some attention
should be paid to the matter of DEGREE.  
An occasional joke, flame, or personally-aggrandizing screed is fine & to be
expected;  if it's ALL someone contributes, then there's a problem.
(which is why god gave us e-mail filters)
(which is why many of you won't be reading this, since it's got my name on it)
