M&D: Reading and rereading - no spoilers

I'd be willing to give it a go, though I think I'd like to get through it
once, in its entirety, before doing a slow read.  I think that having read
it once and then going back again immediately would make the slow read a
bit richer.

And I'm not much further than you, Andrew.  I'm at about p. 150 or so and
I have also pulled out the Atlas, and lacking an OED, my Random House
Unabridged,  which has been surprisingly helpful.  Surprised the living
hell out of me to find that it contained and entry for "phiz".
