more than 100 pages of GR, 'the big one,' though my experience with m&d
(400 pages) has motivated me to take it on."

I would venture to say that VINELAND makes the most sense only in the light
of having read GR--and there are so many echoes of the latter in M&D so
far that I am going to have to read this book right away again at least once
just to make those echoes fainter!
