I agree that it's a great read. KPFA read some of it, years ago, on the
"Morning Reading," (a sad casualty of the NPRification of Pacifica.)
Ann Tyler, an inane hysteric equalled only by the comic strip "Cathy,"
slammed "Macintosh" in her "Accidental Tourist." Her protagonist lugs
"Macintosh" as a defense against talkative seat-mates.
I can't swear that anyone who loves Pynchon will love this book, but it's
worth a trip to the liberry.
