Subject: Books created on-line
Not to quibble with other claims, but I believe that the Arthur C.
Clarke/Gentry Lee "Rama" sequels/collaborations of a few years ago
were written on-line as well. I also believe that Clarke's latest
"3001" was transmitted as an e-mail to the publisher (Del Rey).
Me:
The 4th volume in Orson Scott Card's Alvin series, which
series is set in alternative American history roundabouts _M&D_'s
time, was created chapter by chapter and posted on one of those giant
networks (e.g.AOL) and thrashed upon by fans. I have a copy, but
the thought of how it was built turns my stomach. The first three,
published upon each other's heels, are great. Sequels that come
out after a forever I have found to be less than satisfactory.
