I know, I know: it's just you're sig line, but I have some questions/
comments/ bitches/ peeves/ palabras.
First, in all fairness, attributing "Keep cool, but care" to TRP is no more
fair than attributing "Kill all the lawyers" to Old Bill S. ("KATL" was a
suggesetion from Shakespeare's Jack Cade, a much dumber version than the
historical model, and if you read or see the play, you find that WS does
*not* concur.) "KCBC" was McClintic Sphere's line--n'est-ce pas? 'fraid I
haven't put my nose back in V in seven years--and while I would agree that
TRP-prime (that's the TRP who existed in 1963, the one whom TRP-sub-deux may
now regret like a sailor recalling that night with a honey in Olongapo)
*appears* to valorize Sphere's jive, he never (in, say, a *non*-fictional
venue like an article, blurb, or liner note) reproduces that particular
platitude in his own name. Bottom line, the quote should probably more
appropriately read:
>Keep cool, but care. -- McClintic Sphere
Second, Husky Mariner--Henry Musikar--gotta love those anagrams.
Third, and I know this has nothing to do with HM's sig file, but I been
wondering:
TRP wrote V first and then started GR second, but he rushed out COL49 (for
the money, some say) before finishing the second project. Since GR looks
like a more mature, more refined version of V, and since it takes up so many
of the same themes in much the same style, and considering the subject
matter of the book, why the f*ck didn't he name it V-2?
