Sane? Not by a long shot, I'd guess. But you clearly deserve a
Distinguished Service order from the Pynchon Academy for setting such
a fine example for Pynchon obsessives everywhere - not to mention the
way you managed to keep your paranoia under control whilst reeling off
that ridiculously long list of ridiculously long (and impossible)
possible explanations. Bravo!

Oh and my guess is that the Rev Wicks just got carried away with his
ripping yarn.
