Hey, some of you, cut it out!--God damn it, please

I am responding to this at Andrew's invitation - What I didn't make clear
in my previous message was that it was my impression that the
change in Pynchon-L happened before I got there (I think
I registered in late March) - The flame wars were in full swing and
my responses (for better or worse) were a response to what I saw -
It was not, and is not my intention to insult or abuse this list - My error
has been pointed out I will try to correct it - Pynchon-L can be
a valuable tool
Regarding the census - Many lists are public but I defer to the
wishes of the list owners
Regarding the behavior of others on the list - I have no comment -
I use filters and I use delete - My interest in the claims made
in the context of Pynchon scholarship are, in my opinion,
valid - It would be useful to know to what extent people who
claim to have inside information are telling the truth - If I was
glib in my comments I am sorry - The comments I was reacting
to were glib - I will pursue this interest in the appropriate context
and voice - And I will consider with each posting whether
or not it is worth sharing with the list in general - More likely
yes than no because the list itself is now a tool for spreading
the questionable "inside" information about TRP and that
leads to a lot of issues for me as a researcher
Regarding the ifc - I stopped reading that stuff quite awhile ago -
Some people on this list have shared some information but
I cannot do anything about what he does
Anyway thanks for the comments
