And I second this. It's an interesting article. I get a strange feeling
knowing that Salinger is still alive, perhaps sitting on a masterpiece or
two (or 3 0r 4)- waiting. His isolation provides perspective on Pynchon's
own, well brought out by the author, Rosenbaum.

Delillo is also discussed in this context, with reference to the influence
of Salinger's obsessive privacy on several of Delillo's works.
