I'm so spoiled

What with all the talk lately of slippery slopes, your reductio ad
absurdam was painfully predictable. The pynchon-l wasn't created in
response to a bestseller. It is a literary, not pop, salon, and
there is a presumption of familiarity with the fundamental works of
TRP. IMHO M&D will enter that pantheon, but it is currently a new
book that comparatively few (particulary those of us with a life
and/or work to do) have finished reading.

When I read a book or movie review, I skip the part that reveals plot
details, eg. "One of the most touching moments in..."

No, the spoilers aren't that important to me (they are more so to
others), but what is your rush. Are your posts so
hurried/inconsiderate that you can't afford the time for an extra ten
keystrokes?
