The SF Chron. reveiw of M&D from 4/27 called M&D "loopy" and "all over the map." All this could just as well refer to _Tristram Shandy_, and if there are doubters, the mention of "Uncle Toby" now-where-the-heck-was-it-I-just-read- it-today-and-I'm-up-to-page-370-already) should settle those doubts. -j minnich
