I hate to jump on our cola fan's parade, but what exactly is the proper colonial
pronunciation of the Rev'd's name? According to modern American english, it
would be pronounced as the delicious drink, but wouldn't our English counterparts
across the pond pronounce it as "cherry-cook" (as in the great English jurist,
Lord Coke, pronounced "Lord Cook")? What late 18th century Americans would have
said is a mystery to me.
Nonetheless, its a good pun.
