On Ben Franklin (not a spoiler in sight)

I think Pynchon missed on a possible GR connection by not mentioning BF's som
who was the one who actually held on to the kite while Ol' Ben stood in a
shed taking notes. Later his son was a British Loyalist who was imprisoned
with the blessing of Frankie. While in jail he lost all his teeth and hair. I
may be getting his son confused with his grandson. In any case this ties in
with the child-sacrifice motif of GR.
