     Emboldened by my wife's declaration that there are "many copies" of 
     M&D over at the Donnell (wishing to preserve my own copy, still in its 
     shrink-wrap until deadlines long past are finally met), I went over 
     forthwith.
     
     Or, actually, fourteenthwith, since all the copies (save one on 
     reserve) are checking out.  (They're all--stop laughing--on ONE-WEEK 
     loan.)
     
     What =was= there was also the following announcement:
     
     Dava Sobel reads from her [adjectives omitted] novel _Longitude_, 
     Wednesday, May 28th, 12:30 p.m.
     
     Anyone want to wander over to 53rd Street between 5th and 6th next 
     Wednesday?
