I won't quote your long pomo post, Max, but I want to express my appreciation for its 
quality.  I to went to grad school w/ those folks, and have, like you, cringed as pompous 
ABD's spout self-aggrandizing baloney, each bloated word moving farther from any 
appreciation of literature.  But I maintain a faith in the enterprise itself.  And in my 
reading of the primary sources, these guys--Derrida for example, are amazingly sensitive 
to the workings of literature, and not as nihilistic as their minions often claim.  But I 
admit I haven't read ENVOIS so let me look at it and see,  Good spirited sharing of 
ideas--just what the list excels at!!
