By the way...does anyone else enjoy these "_____ for Beginners" books?
Even if it's subject is something you know quite well, they're really
rather entertaining. I'm anxiously waiting for them to release their
"Lacan for Beginners", someone upon whom I've yet to get any kind of
grasp.
Am in the process of reading _Jacques Lacan_ by Elisabeth Roudinesco.
It's a just-out translation from the French of the 1993 biography.
For me, the "concepts" of Lacan are less interesting than the personal,
intellectual, and historic circumstances around which the developments
took place. This book tries to tie it together. It demonstrates that p-listers
are not the only ones confused by it all.
