POMO rants

[Steven Maas (CUTR)]

Discussions in postmodernism (not always to be confused with discusisons
_about_ postmodernism), along with some other academic debates, has always
brought to mind Medieval theologians, dancing angels, and pinheads
(Pynheads?).  I'm decidedly no expert on the topic though, as I've not
been able to stay awake long enough.  Not to say it isn't a topic worthy
of discussion--

A cartoon by the late great B. Kliban titled (I think it was ) _Academics_
has a pipe-smoking bearded naked man on all fours with a high-tech
thinking cap on.  The cap is connected to a hose originating where the sun
don't shine.
